Snicker Doodles

½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup flour

2 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400˚. Mix butter, shortening, 1 ½ cup sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough into 1" balls and roll in mixture of 2 Tbsp sugar and cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes. Remove immediately from pans.
