1/3 Cup Hoisin or Oyster Sauce
2 tsp olive or sesame oil
2 Tbsp vinegar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp white sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch
3/4 lb beef cut into thin strips
1/2 tsp powdered ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb broccoli florets or other stir-fry vegetables
Vegetable/Olive oil for stir-frying
1. Whisk together the hoisin sauce, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Place the steak strips into the sauce, stir to coat, and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
2. Heat oil in wok or large skillet and stir in the ginger and garlic. Simmer in the oil for about a minute and then stir in the broccoli. Stir-fry until bright green and nearly tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.
3. Add a little more oil to the wok and add the meat and marinade. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes - until the meat is cooked through. Add back in the broccoli and cook until heated through (about 3 minutes). Serve with fried or steamed rice.
